The Beginning: An Unconventional Idea
In 2000, Jacob and Susan D’Aniello, a young couple in Northern Virginia, discovered an unconventional business opportunity: professional pet waste removal. Inspired by an article on unique ventures, they saw potential in serving busy pet owners and launched DoodyCalls with just a bucket, a rake, and a dedication to exceptional service.

In the early days, Jacob and Susan handled every aspect of the business—scooping yards, answering calls, and building trust with their clients, all while working their day jobs. Their reliable service quickly gained popularity through word-of-mouth, and as demand grew, so did their vision.
Growing Beyond the Backyard
In 2004, they began franchising, empowering others to bring DoodyCalls to communities nationwide. The company expanded its services beyond residential waste removal to include pet waste station installation and maintenance, serving business properties and community shared spaces.
