DoodyCalls Announces the Sale of Its
First West Coast Franchise
Kathleen Capps to Operate DoodyCalls
in Portland, Oregon
Palmyra, VA - September 13, 2005 - Kathleen Capps is the
new owner of the first DoodyCalls franchise on the West Coast
and is determined to rid Portland residents of the mounting
problem of pet waste.
DoodyCalls is a national pet waste removal company that
cleans dog waste from homeowner's yards on a twice weekly,
weekly, or every other week basis. For apartment communities,
homeowners associations, and parks, DoodyCalls keeps common
areas cleared of pet waste, and sells and maintains pet waste
stations to provide dog owners with sanitary and convenient
places to dispose of pet waste when they walk their dogs.
DoodyCalls, the nation's first pet waste removal company
to offer franchises, already has franchises operating in
Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, and now in Oregon. "As
the nation's premier pet waste removal service we are excited
to add Kathleen to our team and to bring our service to the
West Coast," said Jacob D'Aniello, president of DoodyCalls
Franchising, LLC.
Capps is an experienced Portland business owner who, along
with her husband Alan Pietrovito, also operates a junk removal
franchise covering the east side of Portland, Oregon and
Vancouver, Washington. Capps became interested in owning
a DoodyCalls franchise after learning that their friend Mark
Rubin recently began operating DoodyCalls in Maryland. "We
joke around and say we made the leap from junk to dog poop," Rubin
laughs. "But look, it's just another service. My own philosophy
is that if the market will support it, I'll sell it."
"Nearly half of all Portland households own dogs, and -
as dog lovers ourselves - we immediately realized the need
for this service," said Capps. Rather than start from scratch,
Capps decided to work with DoodyCalls to bring a nationally
recognized, professional pet waste removal company to Portland.
"Between balancing family, demanding work schedules, and
increasingly long commutes, people in Portland are busy," says
Capps. "DoodyCalls' service eliminates one of the most unpleasant
and time consuming aspects of dog ownership."
A resident of Portland, Capps has a MBA from Boston University.
She is a retired Navy Supply Corps Officer and has many years
of experience providing customer support and in handling
business functions and logistical support within the military.
