Local Laws and Ordinances that Affect Dog Owners
- Barking Dogs - Aurora has a barking dog ordinance in place; however the city encourages neighbors to try to resolve these issues without involving the police.
- Poop Removal - Aurora requires owners of dogs to scoop after their pets in any public area. In addition, dog owners must not allow pet waste to accumulate in their yards to the point it becomes offensive or a public nuisance.
- Pit Bull Ban - Pit Bull Terriers and dogs with similar identifying traits are banned within Aurora.

- Grandview Dog Park - The Grandview Dog Park has 5 acres of room to run, as well as an agility park and a special area just for smaller dogs.
- Cherry Creek State Park Off-Leash Trail - The off-leash trail at Cherry Creek State Park in Aurora winds along a creek and through the beautiful open park spaces. There is a $7 entry fee.
